waste of space
no capped swing rate (melee speed + qui)
even as s/s luri hero you swing slower than my celt w 2h
no capped dex for defense ( evade /parry/ block)
u will prolly always slam enemies 2nd
low hp ( no capped con and low hp)
u cant outdamage (as s/s) or outlast enemies ( with these stats or with ras @ rr1)

Con is a bit low, but let me say that after I fought him on his RR1 Hero you that you will have a very hard time beating him if you aren't several RRs higher and dump on him.

swing rate is done deliberately, weapon has a celerity proc and always uses red haste.

hit points with 75 con and 324 hits is 3144 which imho is more than enuff solo.

gl slamming me first when i have 36 + 11 parry 45 + 11 shield and 2050 weapon skill @ rr1

toa bonuses the style dmg is my only problem but im hitting for 250 a swing at rr1 so go figure

btw, how hard is it to win against rr1 (assuming he is not cl10 or ml10) with that template unless he was engaging half the time?

didnt touch engage once, had a last swing fight with eul, mevoq slaughtered me alot unfortunately, beat galaddrys sb but it was only rr3 so thats a shame, beat some rr5 merc quite easily, beat rr8 armsman that engaged alot (i didnt) every player used purge, and the two that cud used IP.

was only an initial test but i'll post the items now and then u can continue to whine.

1st get rid of Directors Ring of Oblivion
you will lose just 1 in str since you have 30 str cap
2nd i would recommend replacing golm with eds
you can make much more solid temp from this imbueing 13-15 in resists
3rd its a shame you don't have moh

and like i said the benefit from having 90 con is literally only 100 hp. which to me is not worth the paper i wipe my arse with xd

he relies on the 10 str cap , 25% celerity proc and 20 decrease weap speed proc on the enemy of the fine steel longsword

Don't be so sure on that one sonny, seen a lurikeen hero with 50+20 parry 50+20 shield get slammed 3 times in a row (by a rr8 paladin) before and he had mob3/moparry3.

And his template was alot better than yours raw stat wise.


And relying on a celerity proc is a flaw on its own regardless of the proc rate.. end of the day you've also gotta remember your gonna meet people with the same sort of idea as you (s/s) and the chances are the template they have will put yours to shame in that respect.

That doesn't have anything to do with the template though.

The template is bad because you use several low utility items. The SCing is also not great.

Your template includes dragon drops and uses ALL avaliable slots (ie S/S non weaponless). You also neglect quickness and dex in your template however you still aren't able to cap everything else, hits, con, style damage, melee speed.

well i've given comment on it, its been tested by a much higher RR hero than yourself with a better template than yours :) Cadelin is right beating 2x RR8 armsman has nothing to do with it.

Beaten a rr9 inf on a ranger with no sc before melee as a pure bow specced ranger does that mean my none SC template is viable? I think not.

Ur missing the point and ur ego is clearly clouding ur judgement.

As Cadelin said a weaponless template would have been alot more viable more quick and dex (you pointed out 250 dex is a hard cap? then i'd like to say ur wrong.) there is no hard cap for dex on defence... anything upto 250 is a significant increase to block etc.. anything after that it lessens the higher you get. (you still gain an increase for 250+ its just alot less than what it would be from say 1-250, 250-350 for example would be alot less of an increase).

Anywhere around 75-80 dex is perfectly fine for a template :p you don't need to go out of ur way to get 101 because its really not worth it the increase is that minimal. The only shield users that need 101 dex in daoc are classes that rely on a 50/50 weaponskill tree like reavers or pierce champ/hero etc.

as said tho its been a long time since i've tested things like this on daoc so wether mythic changed them or not I don't know.

Celerity down + red haste with 15 quick in template + 40% haste debuff = around 4.0 swing speed (roughly) with a 4.1 speed weapon.


250 dex offering 1400 (roughly) weapon skill with a shield.

290 dex offering 1600 (roughly) weapon skill with a shield.


Shar hero with 45 dex from a template @ rr1 would have 48% chance to parry 52% chance to block with the stats in this template.

Shar hero with 80 dex from a template @ rr1 would have 50% chance to parry 54% chance to block with 36+11 parry 45+11 shield.


Lurikeen hero I tested it with had 90 dex in template 50+20 parry 50+20 shield 73% chance to parry 73% chance to block and he was slammed 3 times in a row.

ran out of time to edit, the lurikeen did have mob3/parry3 and the 3 slams that landed on him were from a hybrid not a pure tank. Paladin may have got extremely lucky with 3 slams in a row but it just goes to show someone with alot higher defence still gets hit.

The armsman you fought must have had terrible weapon skill if they didn't hit you once.

Here is something I threw together based on the items you use in your template. Its certainly not perfect but its better than your current template.

I worked out that given your current template, even WITH the celerity proc you are still not capping your swing speed. Without the celerity proc you will be swinging around every 2.5 seconds with your current template and every 1.6 seconds with celerity. With this template you will be swinging every 2.0 seconds without celerity and every 1.5 with.

Tis better raw stat wise although i'd drop the 5% crush resist to cap out slash tbh screws sc and prob would have to move a few things around although scale is crush strong and slash weak so.

After being gayed on my Armsman by him I've made a new template for my Armsman and also respecced him.

I want a fight today or tomorrow :p.

tbh dont have medal of honour otherwise it wud have already bin in my template, thanx for the remake ofcourse but no use to me :<

better be S/S u dirty beast for max hero slaying or i'll grill u :p no bent 2h specs of doom (despite recent changes)

Yes, went 50 slash, 50 shield, 31 parry and changed template a bit (WH and more dex).

Didn't IP vs Sacre.

Die badly to Mevor now though (Warrior), need either Celerity on 1H or 2H to win vs him.

And still get raped by Champ debuffs (hello Twinsun).

I killed Craeth a few times as well :(

Can kill any arms np if I just RA dump (Hi ST resetting stun timer+ rr5+ml10 hitting for 1k dmg a swing).

The debuffs are OP xD
