Well, have been playing this fellow for a bit now (lvl 59) and the one big issue I have is the survivability. That said, with the contract of protection boost (now 1 hour time) I think it's workable to pump some points into the genral mage tree and expand my life expenctancy. Hopefully not compromising my damage at the same time. I'm going to be relying on hell strikes for damage mostly I reckon & might as well make use of the fish monster goodness ;)

My idea so far goes something like this:

Level 80 build

& at my current level

Thoughts and ideas welcome please.

It's a fun class but like you said so weak ;/ really need some form of stun because Word of Command doesn't cut it.

Right, am up to lvl 65 now and survivability wise, this has made a huge difference. I can see myself respeccing again at 80 more than a few times but I think for PvE, this is going to get me where I need to be.

Other people's input is always handy though ;)

It's a fun class to play but the lack of CC just seems to go against us in almost every pvp fight unless you get the jump.

Charge ability needs a stun/snare tbh ;/

Can't count the number of times i have charged someone only for them to keep running :(

Heh, think I need to sort out some fraps and get a montage going :)

It's hard to beat the heart eating fatality but the neck snapping one is probably my fave. Also have a fire one now that turns any humanoid mob a crispy charcoal colour with little whisps of smoke coming off :flame:

I'm a normal, balanced person really ;)

Well Xotlis combos once again do damage. :) Tried level one up and was hard with just normal attacks :)

knockback would be more reasonable.

Anyway stun is more useful for the task. If you charge someone, you want to stop him from getting away. A stun will do exactly that, while a knockback can be resisted by heavier armor or even worse by being mounted.

Stop them in their tracks with charge+stun, hold them with any means of CC you have. At least thats how I see it.

If they add stun they may have to drop the dmg by the charged first strike, dunno about hox but on my conq knocks off 20-50% in the first strike.
