Heores and valewalker

just a question i made on french server a heroes as i though was the best tank in hib then a valewalker said lol no way a hero can win against a valewalker in a duel . Is it true are valewalker better than heroes in melee ? thanks

valewalkers don't get determination

hybrid's are generally better in duels than pure tanks

in group rvr though, the lack of determination makes them suck compared to the pure tanks who do get determination

I dont think its true.

Most tanks spec RA's and SC that are group friendly and bad for duels, possibly if you spec purely for group rvr you would be worse than a VW.

Ive lost duels to higher RR VW's than my Hero (and won a fair few), but I dont think ive ever lost a duel to a lower RR VW.

well the chanter was just too easy to level really, and then wif the power of focus pull the druid just sort of happened

hee hee know what u mean m8 i made a chanter n druid /leveled em to 10 and then gained 12 lvls in about 3 hrs was mental

just cant seem to keep myself from falling asleep on the focus pull grind

Valewalkers are good characters, but as for being as good as hero's in the 'tank' state then thats a big NO.

Dont look at which class would win in a duel, look at how they operate in group RvR.

Hero's have determination, VW's dont, Hero's can spec shield and stun, VW's cant.

Put it this way, VW cant be classed as a pure tank, Hero's are, and on top of that there probably the best tank in the game, at least imo

vw has: 5sec side pos stun, 8sec behind pos stun (anni wannabe!) ;o

and with neutral to all weapons armor + 33% abs buff theyre pretty good there i guess..

no det sux though :x

havent really seen much vw's so dont really know if theyre any good or not

well, duel != RvR

but VW would prolly win, yes. but know that they use selfbuffs and spells since they are a hybrid aswell as the melee.

I've beaten a lot of tanks higher rr than me in duels, vodkafairy beat stormrider playing my vw who was rr2lx something at the time but he admitted he sucks in duels

Usually it comes down to the haste buff and getting the reactionary styles and procs in plus a couple of unresisted lifetaps at the beginning.

A vw in rvr is still fun, stay at the back of the grp and avoid the first round of mezzes and use your ability to interrupt then melee, using stuns and so on. Sawgrass with it's slash resist debuff is a nice move but it's off a parry which is damn hard to get off in any situation but a 1v1

I can beat a hero in a duel most of the time (since scale is weak vs. slash). but I dont. cos I dont play my VW anymore.
VW's suck donkey balls.

not det = no group

no group for a non-stealther = no fun

imo, warriors are better since they can get 50 shield without any penalty like the Hero since 1h is same specc as 2h. and therefor better then a Hero.

moose, yay! more hp for a class that should be taken down last. if you need moose you are either dealing with noobs(should win) or a zerg.

maybe if you are doing your job very well as a blocker to, but the chances that a healer is "free" to heal is much better then and a Hero is so much easier to heal then a mage/other weak class.
