ok, BW have changed some of there ip's, so i updated the hl in game browser for the ne ips, i know yur going to say use GS or AE, but i have used the in game browser since beta 1, its quick its easy,
but as off last night, after updating the server list and adding all the new bw ips, later i loaded CS it said my Hl favsvrs.dat file was corrupt, so i updated it again, ( takes like 8-10 minutes to Update :( ) then the fooker did it again :(

i reinstalled all Half life and the patchs and cs, but yes, it corrupted again, i have virus checked, scan disked, and it still does it, it was fine untill i updated aznd added new ip's?

really annoying, i like the in game browser, its quick and easy :)


anyone help?

did your game exit correctly after you had updated the servers ?

Since 1.4 there seems to be a huge delay in exiting the game (it refreshes the server list during exit). If you aborted this then you could have corrupted the file.

You could also have read the post by Inigo Montoya (ignoring Shocking Alberto).

yeah Lazarus, it takes ages to quit out :(

only happened since i updated the master list, was fine untill then :(


where is the url you mentioned above, cant find it?

Sorry jobs, but m8, dont be such a gurl :) Get ase or gspy and all youre problems are over :) Simple!

Jobs get somehting other than the HL browser, its neither quick or easy. HLSW would be a good choice if you dont fancy GS or ASE.

Oh yeah and try deleting your favservers file and starting CS again, update the servers chose your favourites then quit CS using /quit in the console. For some reason I find that shutting down in the console avoids all the crashes hl gives me for using its menu.

Jobbie, delete the server file from your game directory, allow hl to make a new one. Its probably corrupt. Reinstalling the game will not overwrite the server file.

leave the browser alone, its soooo easy, i only play BW, all of them there, all i have to do is press escape, select new server and im off, no alt tabbing for me :p

ok

1 - i have tried deleting the file, then update, same thing happens

3- it only happend when i updated, was fine untill then

4- it takes like 10 minutes to update, so fooking annoying

5- i guess its a bug and nothing can be done :(


ch3tan what is HLSW? you got a url?

also AE url would be good, i may aswell give it a go


but i miss my little HL browser :(

somebody must know why?

anyone got a full list off all the new ips for BW?

i will try adding each one manually, instead of updating, this may work, aint tried it.

someone post me a full updated ip list please, i cant go anywhere else or websense kicks me out, (im at work :( )

I thought you had to pay for it?

Or is that to get more Options?

Just like gamespy, you can pay if you want, and get unlimited buddy list, or get it for free and have 4 buddy list. It really is so much better than Gspy once you get used to it. Better probably if you play a variety of games like I do though, as I have a different favourites folder for 8 different games, you can refresh each individually, its all very good.

Have you tried creating your own favservers.dat file (whatever it is) and entering the ips manually?

Got to agree that ase is an awesome server browser. Filtering out all the non UK servers and adding other such modifiers is very handy.
Also I think it actually connects quicker than gspy, dunno about that though, anyone else noticed it?
Though that hlsw thing you posted about looks interesting Ch3t, gonna have to give that one a go myself.
