Help!

The intro for Q3A runs fine, but then when it gets to the main menu screen, it goes black. I know I'm at the menu screen because if i move my mouse about i hear the menu sounds.
Any help on solving this would be much appreciated!

i have the same with regular Q3, but red screen

only had this with q3 v1.27h though..
