Two people with mutual interest in one another going out somewhere together without the aid of friends nearby. Yes, I can see how that isn't date

Anyhow, Wimbledon should be a good'un :)

Cinemas are the worst place for dates if you want to get to know someone well. Sitting in silence for a couple of hours isn't the best place for stimulating conversation :p

Take her to a quiet pub that does decent food.

If you insist on going to the movies then I'm afraid chickflick it is.

Make sure you get an aisle seat, its easier to hide scratching your bollocks.

Hmmm not many date movies out there atm.
Something like The Terminal, De-Lovely (If she likes Musicals), The life of Peter Sellars or Shark Tale might have to be your next best bet.

Saw Man on Fire last night with my girl - It wasn't bad but I was disappointed with the ending. It's not really a date movie though. Anyway I agree with Jonaldo - going somewhere where you can talk (preferably over a drink) is the best plan. If you can't talk to each other for a while then it's all doomed anyway!

What is this thing women have about talking btw? - Despite being able to hold up my side of a conversation quite well I get the gf wanting me to talk more  (It's probably about 60/40 in her favour in terms of amount of speaking). But I tend to only speak when I have something interesting to say rather than say something boring. Personally I'm quite happy for her to speak lots - saves me doing it - since I'm always stuck for new things to talk about. Sometimes I get put on the spot though or there's an awkward silence and my mind goes a complete blank for things to say :(

The wee cinema was in "town" last week. There seemed to be a remarkable amount of nothing on. Where did all the good films go? :)

A few years ago (a few, actually 10! *gulp*) my friend asked me to be best-man at his wedding. We agreed to meet up and discuss the arrangements and, in a wild stroke of genius moment, we thought the ideal place to meet up would be the cinema.

Doh! It wasn't until we were sitting down and the film had started that we realised the error of our ways. Not my finest suggestion ever

As for the thread ... haven't been to the pics for a few weeks now, nothing on that I particular fancy really. But if you like "Hellboy" then we might not have much in common anyway ;)
