The laptop I was gonna buy for the mother is now not available.

I want a sub £250 lappy, windows 7 (cos 8 will confuse the fuck out of her), new, only gonna be used for browsing the net and occasional word processing.

If you're not looking for a game laptop then just pick the prettiest with the best processor you can find.

I'd not avoid Windows 8 - you can always install Classic Shell for her. I never see metro.
