HELP - XP nightmare

Since i put XP on my pc i cant play Halflife-CS in openGL mode ,its saying my card doesnt suport that mode. I've been using this card for years with all other window systems. Ive got a voodoo3 2000. Its not just that game ,its others aswell. It has to be problem with XP. Any one any ideas please?

Tell me about it, ive got an ati card and even with the overflow fix patch installed i cant play CS back to M.E today i think.

Windows XP/ME and 98 are all pure piles of shite.

U wanna use Win2K.
It aint incompatable with all games, works wiv all the ones i got.
I tried XP which also worked fine on my PC but still all me m8's have had troubles wiv it.

Win2K is the only way 2 go hun e's :wub:

While it recognises your graphics card and displays windows XP well but it doesn't have opengl built in so you need to get the latest drivers.

But where do i get the driver from. I'm lead to beleive 3dfx has gone bust.

goto wicked3d.com, there driver is a pretty good one for voodoo cards

What happened yesterday(scary irc thing)kinda thrust me into the install of XP(dont ask why)Throd, since last nite and not being able to play CS and having to actually talk to my girl cuz of XP i kinda wished id stuck with M.E, but as a lot of people have recommended win2k i am now in the process of downloading sum drivers and stuff, thus far it seems pretty familiar(i know how to turn auto-run off and stuff unlike in XP),pray 4 me Throd m8

Not realy had any probs with CS on my Xp machine, just about every other game i have though

ME, rockstable for me, had in since the day i first got the final, been here ever since, not one problem with it that couldn't or hasn't been solved.

I dread the day when they start making soft/hardware that ain't compatible with 98/Me

What engish certainly isn't, is all this RoXor, Wiv shit that some pill who's name i can't even make out is spouting.

Simple answer to you Xp probs, just dual boot with ME, or 98.

There ain't that many open glide games around these days, so it not as if you will be away from your Xp for too long

doesnt the mouse accel bugger up q2 when you use xp? i recall some talk of that in the Great Savage League disaster recently..

I've also had trouble with icq 2001b on xp. I've had to bin that aswell.

They could fix mouse problems easy now the Q2 source is out. The Linux binaries had really poor input for GLX users, but now the source has been GPLed, a guy named relnev has been sproucing it up, so it easily matches Windows for feel.

Dueling booting is easy with Windows-Linux, allthough i haven't booted to windows for about a month, and only then to reinstall it after messing with my partitions to give more space to Linux

Well im sure voodoo supports opengl, goto 3dfx.com and get the latest driver 4 yr card, we had similar problems at work and wicked3d sorted it, u sure u installed it correctly m8?if it wont have none on the install u have to change the half life file to either read only or archive cant remember which 1 we did, try and get wicked running its a really good driver 4 voodoo.good luck.

OpenGL DOES work with Voodoo Cards, because i had a Voodoo 3 2000 16mb which i used over my Network Games, and it worked almost feckin better than my GeForce 2
