Whats the final say on what the quick cap is? I have been confused over whether or not its worth going over 250 qui at all. Being a kobbie i hit almost 298 in qui atm with uber buffs. Is this a waste and can I be better spent putting imbue to other things?

Thanks for your time

Going over 250 is a waste of imbue points for sure. ;<<<

With 298qui, you'll should only need +27qui on your template to cap it. :)

Gustav! I thought you'd quit a long time ago. Glad to see you still around.

And yes 250 qui is the cap. Personally, if you can afford it, I'd still keep it at your max SCing. In these imminent days of buff-shearing, it would still mean you have close to capped dex, even if your buffs are stripped.

250 quickness is soft cap

After 250 quickness there is still a haste affect acheived but it is really really small. And over 250 quickness has an affect on evade as much as it it did before reaching the soft cap, however I am led to beleive after 350 the returns to evade from quickness are reduced, though I doubt anyone hits that number :p

As for your SC suit, yes only get quickness to 250 and spend the imbue points elsewhere, as for buff shearing you have self buffs for that in the case your sheared and manage to survive :p

Good to see you back gustav, yep save the points for over stuff.

I mean you going to hit fast anyway with 10% melee speed too onto 250 qui.

According to a grab bag over 250 quickness does nothing to your swing time..
Guess evade still get increased..
And there isn't such thing as soft caps when it comes to stats...

I think there is, take quickness for example..
For every 5 quickness above 60, and below 250 you get:
-0.02 to your Quick modifier (starts at 1)

Ignoring haste's,

Swing speed = Weapon Speed * Quick Modifier

So a 4.0 speed weapon with 200 Quickness would be;

4 * 0.72 = 2.88

But after 250, despite what Mythic says you do still get a haste, but I think the figure they came out with from testing was 5 points added -0.002 which means 50 quickness after 250 had the same effect as 5 quick before 250, dont ask me how they got this though :p, maybe a luri shade with +18 quick on creation to test :p

And apperently VNBoard (really unreliable I know) say something about having over 350 Str, the WS increase from extra Str diminishes, though I would want to test this myself before I took it for granted, as with the post 250 quick haste effect thing

For str etc there *has* been a soft cap of 350. There isnt anymore. It was removed some patches back, well before ToA.

You get same weaponskill over 350str per point, however in NF 450str is going to be the hard cap sanya said.

250 points is the cap evade is calculated from.
But QUI affects drawtime of bows /swingtime of weapons too.

Each point above 60 brings an advantage, but the turnback from 60-150 is the biggest.
After that the turnback per point is decreasing in 2 or 3 steps.

There's one difference between melee and bow when it comes down to quickness.. for meleers using a style, more quickness will lower the /style/ bonus to the attack. (Base damage stays the same).

For bow, since bow never is an style, more quickness = more damage. Not having 250 Qui as an archer is shooting yourself in the foot. :)

Diskussion is about 250 or more for QUI.

So basically what I'm hearing is that I should bang up my quick but not go nuts on it. As I said before i get close to 298 or so with red con buffs from friendly boofers. If I drop a few points on my suit I can still confortably work with a 270-280 range on qui as the benefits of the next 25 or so points are worth less and better spent on other area. thx guys...btw I'm still in my 99% sc suit...need to get a move on to upgrade :)

And Shanaia my loverly alb friend....lets meet up soon. Really want to get into movies...I have the smoldering good looks and a blue body to die for that have most the of mollywood producers after me :)

will be back on msn soon.
