Ok i just got a new mobo and cpu

Mobo is a asus P48X Deluxe

CPU is a Pentium 4 2.4.

ram is corsair ddr2700

Ripping from my old setup:
gfx card - Leadtek Winfast A250LE
soundcard - Soundblaster Audigy
HDD, floppy etc

The problem comes when i put in my gfx card. The motherboard has a safety cutoff for the AGP port. If you put in a gfx card thats not 1.5v it won't power up to protect the mobo from frying.

The card i have is a Leadtek Winfast A250LE . With it being a pretty recent card(gfti4200) i thought it would be supported fine by the mobo. Seems not though, with the card in the red led shows and i can't power up, without the gfx crd in i can power up(but obviously get the beeps telling me no gfx present).

I don't have any other gfx card to try in the system and i'm wondering whether theres a motherboard fault or if in fact my gfx card isn't 1.5v. I can't seem to find any info on it, can anyone help?

Nope its definitly THIS

And thanks Embattle, thats what i thought, i'm totally confused as to why it won't work unless the board is fubared. I could go buy another gfx card to see but i really don't want to do that :( Looks like i'll have to return the board.

Oh and as for the leadtek page, i was looking for the voltage not agp 2.0(yes i am that thick)

It will support the 2700 it will just run at 2100 instead afaik.

Using PC2700 memory wouldn't cause a problem normally, a number of tests on this mobo used PC3200.

Plus the AGP warning LED, a Asus Protection feature, is On which means it thinks the card is the wrong voltage.

Thanks i'll try that also :)

You have nothing to lose and if they take too long then just RMA your board back to where you bought it.
