that reallly helped.
i just use tv out from my radeon 9800 to the vcr, then record what i want, then play it back through a tv in card on my other pc.
i aint got a clue about compressing/encoding etc
Also someone mentioned FRAPS in an earlier post so I bought it and well impressed...no more recording out to Video/Beta just start recording in the background - I've noticed no overhead with it running 30fps+ up and you get an AVI when you stop v nice.
I recently tried the fraps 2.0 demo in daoc, but the output video is completley scrambled while the output from 1.9 looks just fine (except for the poor resolution it supports).
Also tried 2.0 in Planetside and it worked just fine...anyone had similar problems or know how to fix it?
I'm experimenting with making some tribes movies at the moment. How I see it, the best method is to record using Fraps then edit it with either Windows Movie Maker or Videomach (http://www.videomach.com).
I'm personally using Videomach as it has more options for encoding, adding different effects and so forth... not done much at all yet, still gathering decent footage.
