Help With Buying RAM

Ok i bought ram on ebay and it was fooked.

here is the specification (according to mobo guide book) of the Memory

Memory: 2 DDR DIMM slots: DDR1and DDR2
PC2100 (DDR266) / PC2700 (DDR333)
for 2 DDR DIMM slots, Max. 2GB;
PC3200 (DDR400) for 1 DDR DIMM slot, Max. 1GB

Now what i would like to ask is. those that know about tech stuff (i dont im fick as fook when it comes to tech) ,

can you please direct me to a memory that is affordable that will let me get fast as possible speed. preferebly direct to the actual product cos i aint got a clue. bought one i thought was ok few days ago and it was fooked and wouldnt work.

one thing tho i aint got much spare cash so lets say £100 absoloute MAX
but id prefer to spend 50-75 iddealy
