Help with BitTorrent pls :)

Ok so im downloading phase2 of mir3 beta on BitTorrent i think its called have a DL Rate of 12kbs and an upload rate of 12kbs, file is 666.46MB so its going to take bastard ages at that speed is there anyway to speed it up? Im a computer noob so have no idea about stuff like this

edit: dl rate just went to 7kbs :'( whilst ul went to 15 want to dl it not ul it

Its the way bittorrent works, you usually go through trackers that have a ratio, if your dl is more than your ul then it slows down.

For the system to work, you need to seed your download for a few days after its done, that will help your ratio on the tracker.

Its to put leechers off a bit.

try opening the ports (dunno what ones) for bit torrent in your firewall/router or just turn off the firewall if you have one while you are downloading, if this doesnt work or you have already tried it i really cant help you

not a good idea... if bittorrent connects and starts to download then your firewall will be configured just fine.

the more you share with bittorrent the more you can download, my downloads generaly only start at a few K - then jump right up after a while of sharing things back out,

You should experiment with different BT clients too.
