Apologies that there are hundreds of similar threads, but ....

If i try to run accounts on 1 pc under 1.60 my pc instantly reboots! When I previously ran 2 accounts (naughty naughty use of doax - i know i know ) this happened, but very rarely - admitedly that was 1 SI and 1 classic session and now it is 2 SI.

Can anyone help me. System is:

P4 2.4
Win 2000pro
785 ram DDR
nvidia GForce 4 Ti 4200 128meg
Gigabyte P4 Titan GA-8SG800
Soundblaster Live!1024
DirectX8.1 (did use 9 but had same problem)

Sorry, but I am only semi-comp literate having grown up on BBC's and Spectrums (ah the memories), but on checking it seems both soundcard and video card are using IRQ 16 - is this wrong (and how would I fix it?)

Any help much appreciated and let me know if you need any additonal details

Thanks in advance

I'm afraid I don't have a solution, but a fellow guildie is having the same problem. Before he could run 2 using DAoX, abeit laggy.

He reinstalled (switched from XP home to pro as well) and now it doesn't work anymore. DAoX nor 1.60, the computer instantly restarts, or sometimes after 2 minutes or so..

Yup that sounds about right! DaoX was always very laggy on the background char (active one was fine, but it meant you could not do auto-stick) and now DoaX does not work with 1.60.

Anyone else got any suggestions or if there is a new doax for 1.6 which i could use with original doac so i can still pl my toon?

I got exacly same problem. My computer is similar to your and should have any problem. I think its WIN XP that is the BAG GUY cause my firend got Win 2k and it works fine for him even if his CPU and connection is lower then mine.

Got the same problem, but just before reboot some verry high pitched noise is comming from my speakers so i am guessing its the soundcard(driver) cauring it

(creative audigy)

Got the same high pitched noise yesterday when my comp over heated after running to accounts for a while.

First time I get an over heating problem so not sure what to connect the high pitched noise with. I doubt it is the sound card (I have the Creative Audigy 2 as well), bet you get the same noise whatever soundcard you are using if the PC gets over heated and shuts down..
