Help Needed?

I'm new to trying to play this online. I have setup 1 game so far with a friend, but we are finding it hard to find Mp games with helicopters in. Are there any and what are they called?
Also how do you all get together online and play?
What is the normal number of players you can play against before lag becomes a serious issue?
Can you join games that have already started or do you always have to meet up first?

Also any good Flahpoint sites would be appreciated.

Its a bit of a nightmare. You cant join mid-game, you have to wait till a new one starts.
