Ok on sunday morning i finally got my 2nd accounts password emaild to me (yay). So all day i just power level'd no probs at all.

When i came home from work on monday, tried to load up both versions etc, get my one character in game and as my other character is loading in i get a message "Windows has to recoverd from a failier(sp) save any data now as you must reboot".

When i check event viewer the ony error i get is this

"The driver nv4_disp for the display device \Device\Video0 got stuck in an infinite loop. This usually indicates a problem with the device itself or with the device driver programming the hardware incorrectly. Please check with your hardware device vendor for any driver updates."

Does anyone have a clue wtf that means? Also when i play only 1 character my graphics are ait weird, get colourd blobs just apeer.

These are my specs

Xp 2.2
MSI- K7N2G-ILSR (Delta)
Geforce 4 Ti 4600
512ddr 333mhz
80gb 7200rpm hdd

Now imo this shouldnt be to bad running 2 copy's of SI on 1 machine, just turn everything down on other account. So im totally lost on what to do.

Any help appriciated
(Also added this in technical aswell)

Try downloading the latest drivers for your GFX card and also see that you have the latest DirectX available.

not to dish you or anything mind

but why is it that everytime people that doesn´t know much about computers ask for help they write their hdd´s size and speed? I mean come on ffs what good is that gonna do, we don´t care and the info is useless.

now for the questions ;)

is that an XP2200 OR an xp processor running 2.2ghz speed?

update your gfx driver here http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp

find latest DirectX here
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/da/default.asp

and does this happen everytime, or was it a onetime occurence and you haven´t tried using to 2 clients again?

Why do you assume i dont no much about computers??

I am a Computer Engineer, thats why i put down what spec i have, as i know from experiance with cusomters.

Yes that xp 2.2 = processor.

I have updated every driver possible, happends everytime i try 2 clients, also did it once playing PS.

I think it may have something to do with my Graphic card Memory going duff, could be wrong.

because you put in your hdd size and speed, which is not even close to relevant in your problem

I am well aware of that, my question was.

is that an XP2200 OR an xp processor running 2.2ghz speed?

meaning, is the name of the processor XP2200, or is it XP(number that equals an actual 2.2ghz proc)

of course as a computer engineer you would of course know that AMD no longer calls their processors by the ghz they run but by what AMD through some testing apparently seems to think a similar Intel processor would run.

e.g. the XP2200 would run about 1.8-2.0 (unsure as to the actual number) but AMD makes this test up where they can compare it to a Intel P4 that runs 2.2ghz, hence they call it XP2200

since it only happens when you load to accounts it probably isn´t the card, I would suggest trying your GFXcard specific drivers (if the ones you´re using now is from nvidia, try downloading from e.g. asus if that´s your gfx card manufacturer.)

I also assumed you didn't know much about computers as you didn't seem to have any clue about fairly self explanatory error message. What sort of comuters are you an engineer for?
The simple step of searching on that error message brought up this which would seem to answer your question if not actually solve the problem.

I had about the same problem on my second pc. (I have an abit mobo tho)
I fixed it by setting the AGP speed in the bios manually to AGP 2X.

Maun, try running both copies of SI in Windows 98 compatibility mode (you get to this option by creating a shortcut, viewing the properties and choosing the option).

I had a very similar problem on my comp and the above fixed it.

are you running both copies windowed? or full screen?

my comp aint as good as yours and i used to get that kinda error too, would dump memory and stuff, i now run both windowed, and bumped my page file up to 2gig, and works dandy now.

never know, anyting could fix it.

think i had the agp speed speed fixed a prob for me too, worth giving that a try 1st i'd say.
