Help Needed

I have a problem that is killing my enjoyment for this game. For the past weeks I've been having massive LD's. The ping is fine 100-200s so ingame the performance indicator shows a green ping BUT a constant RED lag square.

Here maybe something that is affecting me badly, recently mmy isp decided to restrict bandwith on some ports. So now I need to know which ports this game uses in order to be able to get my isp to grant me access to those ports to maybe solve the problem.

I currently have both cable and adsl connections. Both different ISP's. With cable I cannot even get past the "checking for updates" screen, while with adsl it takes me 5-10 mins but I manage to get in....

Hi.

Looking at the tracert you posted in a previous thread here.

I see you started with the 3rd hop, so I take it you use a network with a gateway, which is attached to your ISP's.

The ping times to the 3rd hop look a little high for the 3rd hop, so there might be an issue on your own internal network.

However, with vekshan having the same problem... Have you checked with your ISPs in regards to any problems thay are having?

As for the port number, I have it somewhere on my PC at home, will find it and post it here when I get it so you can find out about the bandwidth issue on the port.

However, I don't think that would affect the access, unless the ISP hasn't got the ports bandwidth limiter configured right, as it is possible to play with multiple accounts (6+) over a single 56k modem.

Will see what I can find out.
