I can't seem to install it on Steph's pc. It gives me some weird error about not being able to read the cd-rom half way through the installation. I have tried copying the cd to the HD and sharing my cd-rom on which it does install properly, but then it just tells me that I have to insert the cd-rom as soon as I click install playonlineviewer.

I was thinking of making an iso file out of the cd and the using daemontools to emulate the cd. Could someone please point me to a good (free) iso builder or suggest what else I could try (besides swapping cd drives).

I know for a fact that somene else have had this problem. Shame you should be hit by all the flaws in this somewhat not so good installation.

You got your comp in a network at home with steph's i presume so why not just use your cd drive and install it from that one since you were able to do it from there.

Cant think of any good *.iso builder since i never use em (except nero which aint free)

I still have this problem on one of my comp...the suport team still working on it...

well...you can use the number to call to the suport crew...and then they give you a site where you can download it from but that still don't work for me

Had the same problem, formatted my HDD and reinstall windows XP and installation worked fine then, seems there's some very weird errors with the installation process.

I had exactly the same problem nick. Kept getting file XXX is corrupted due to cd rom reading error or bad product etc. And turning the installation files into 'images' on your HDD and doing it that way DOES NOT work, well didnt work for me :(.

Things that didnt work with me:

- I used my first CD ROM drive and it didnt install.
- I used my other CD ROM drive and it didnt install.
- Copied the files on to my HDD and trying to install it there didnt work.
- Turned the files into images using nero and used daemon tools to run the images didnt work either.

What i did was disconnect from the network and turned off all background programs. That includes anti virus and other things running in the back ground. Then stuck it in the CD ROM drive and it worked! \o/

Just keep trying nick and it will eventually work.

/edit I think theres a free nero pack you can download and create isos from there. Try www.download.com

Fjortis?

I got it to work. I made images with nero and then used daemon tools to emulate them.

Just a shame about the game though.

It feels like doing 1-5 in daoc all the time with no goal to work towards, ESPECIALLY IF THEY KEEP MOVING THE BLOODY GOAL POSTS (ie. upping the level cap with no end insight)!

For anyone else who does get this problem... my brother had this. When it complained it couldnt read the file or copy or whatever, it simply needed him to put the next CD in  but it never actually ever came up with the "Insert CD x" message.

A lot of players migrated from Bismark recently, mainly Japanese, this may explain why you can get Bismark on a random again.

Prolly gonna be leaving myself in the next round of migrations.
