I want to get my Bt openworld so my kids can have it on thier pc upstairs, as well as on mine. Ive ordered a Netgear router, a good one im told, around 100 quid, and Im about to do this, but now Ive been told that BT can block usage and generally "find out about it" in some mysterious and nasty big business matrix-style fashion :)
Obviously, this I dont want .
So, can they do this ? I imagine the pc's will use the connection at the same time, though not nescessarily .
Its a 512 connection btw, and any advice would be most helpfull. Cheers :)

well, a router acts like a completely seperate pc, and they cant see what goes on beyond the router

they can however, see that you're online 24/7 (if you dont turn off the outer), which may cause problems

I'm on BT Openworld ADSL, I got a router connecting 4-5 PC's, router is on 24/7, been doing this for the last 6 months, and never had a problem with BT :)
