Help me i'm melting

can someone please throw suggestions for me

I have 2 machines

1. p3 450 with a MX card in and only 64 meg of ram, in game getting 20fps on my own server but in menu's in game i get 100+

2. Dual p3 600, geforce2gts (6.50 drivers alltho ive tried 11.01 and still same) 256 meg of rambus and get 30 fps (www.pudge.co.uk/t2fps.jpg) but this machine caps out at 64fps (both staring at a wall while playing and in game menu's news, forums etc..) I have v-sync disabled in both my vid properties and in game settings.

Why is this? can i cure it?

oops fogot to add my p3 450 has winME and my dual proccy has win2k

I guess your being throttled by the 600Mhz processors rather than anything else. I doubt T2 will use any more than 1 procesor at a time. Have you tried using Set Affinity to force T2 to run on the less active proc ?

I tried setitng ALL affinty to cpu0 and only Tribes2 to cpu1 and i got absolutely no difference, i firmly beleive that it isnt my cpu being throttled (unless there is a leek) i just can't understand why i'm capped at 64 when my other (much lower spec) machine goes way beyond it in menu screens, i know other peeps with similar machines to mine who get double the frame rate in that screenshot. This coupled with the fact that i only get 10fps difference from having all detail minimum to maximum leeds me to believe that the problem lies somewhere else. Thanx for the suggestion grilla

menu screens require no 3d acceleration because you are viewing 2D stuff

It's like saying you get 5million FPS in windows and 10fps in Tribes
