Help me i cant play Q3

Whenever i try to start Q3 i get the follwing error msg:
"hunk data failed to allocate 56 megs"
wtf is that??? Has any1 else seen it before cause i havent. This turned up after some tweaks that i put in my cfg but i was only trying to fix my ping ffs. The worst thing is that i aint got a backup of my previous cfg file.
My PC is p3 800 128 Mb memory Geforce2 card. Thanx for helping.

lo Torpilo,

Hunkmegs refers to the setting "com_hunkmegs x" which defines the amount of system ram q3 reserves for itself. The default value for this is 56 so I assume you havent actually changed this setting. With 128 meg of ram you should normally be fine (I use com_hunkmegs 96) so either you have some programs running in the background in windows or summat else has fucked up your configs.

At the console in Q3, type /com_hunkmegs and let us know what value it returns.

Make sure you have nothing running in the background eg Office find fasts etc .

Have you tried deleting the q3config.cfg & autoexec etc and starting again?. If this works then make the changes you described earlier 1 by 1 to find the culprit. Let us knwo what it is and maybe we can help with that then.
