Another album*, another waste of money where I only like one or two songs on it that will be in the charts soon, makes me realise why I like chart compilations so much. I finally realised most of my top rated songs on iTunes/iPod come from freebie compilation CDs given away in Sunday newspapers.
So I start the ambitious plan of collecting all the "Now That's What I Call Music" CDs, got all the way back to #20 (circa 1991) but its getting expensive, saw Now #4 CD go for £120 on eBay. The strange thing is, the further back I go in time the more I like the songs.
Came across "No Way" by Vanilla the other day, I remembered a very amusing thread started by Damini on the subject of that song, hate the song, but the memories were nice, the memories too all of them are nice.
Got a few 80s compilations, now I like all this modern techno-bongo-whatsit stuff as much as anyone, hey, I gave 5 stars to Utah Saints on the iPod, but I really like Echo Beach, and stuff like that.
Please, help, I am addicted to pop, I can't help liking music everyone else does !?
* Goldfrapp - Supernature, pretty good tracks, sexy and electronic, like OMD with breasts.
