help im a newbie

I just got Tribes 2, it runs ok but the landscape like mountains etc r wrong basically i can see the pixels and everything. Ive tried changing texture details and graphics modes eg Opengl. Ive got a TNT Nividia 16mb graphics card. Please please help me. Usually i play tfc and this runs fine.

Before I got my new system I had the same problems.

I thought of 2 ways to fix it:

1: UPGRADE!!!!!

2: Suicide

As you can tell I went for the more expensive choice.

Not sure exactly what you mean by 'pixels and everything' =/

Post a screenshot if possible, play Tribes2 and press 'print screen' key which is usually next to F12 on your keyboard. In your Tribes2 gamedata directory you'll find file(s) called screenxx.png where xx is a number.

Convert the relevant PNG to JPEG using a paint package such as PaintShop Pro and post a link to the JPEG here.

Or just post a the IMG to the PNG. IE will translate PNG fine.

Hmmm...

Just got your mail - I used to get exactly the same on my old Voodoo 5.

Mine was fixed when I played in Direct 3d mode but as you say you have tried this then I'm a bit stuck as to what to suggest.

Lower all your texture detail settings cause you only have 16meg memory on your card.

Then goto your graphics card manufaturers web-site and get the latest drivers for your graphics card. Be carefull when updating them if you dont know what your doing cause it can do more harm than good if done incorrectly.

See how you go with that, but I seriously reccommend getting a nvidia chipset based geforce card.

Goto www.scan.co.uk and you can pick up a Geforce 2 mx for around £70. That will allow you to run the game at top graphics settings with reasonably good frame rates.

Changing from 16 bit 32 bit in the graphics options under the video setting might do the trick.

I got it working just needed to get the latest patch dunno y it helped but now it's fine. Thanks for all your help
