HELP!!! HL 1.1.0.9 messed up comp

Help !!!!
Since dl the new patch 1.1.0.9 my comp has basically gone Haywire.

Ive had to do a system restore 3 times, uninstall HL 3 times and dl the new patch agn, it somehow interferred with my anti virus and messed that up so thats been uninstalled and reinstalled twice and only with the help of 'Hawking Tool' was I able to run it. As it stands now HL runs fine, my anti virus runs fine, however I'm getting numerous blue screen of death's indicating that various virtual drivers are causing problems ie VxD VMM and VxD VTDAPI.

When the blue screen is up the 'Esc to return to windows', 'Ctrl Alt Del to restart comp' and Press any key to continue' dont always work and I have to press the reset button on my comp.

Computer spec: AMD Athlon slot A 750 Mhz, Gigabyte mobo, 192 Mb ram, SB PCI 128 sound, ATI 32 Mb rage graphics, Windows ME.

Please help if u have any suggestions

btw I tried to shutdown last bight ang got blue screen agn showing error ffff:0000ffff so needless to say I couldnt shut down

Finally, I never had any problems until I downloaded the patch.

It's time for the bad news. That sounds like one fubar installation of windows. If you are crashing out when not running HL, then the problems extend well beyond the client software. Could be driver "issues", or it could be that some of your memory went haywire and it just happened to be at the same time as you updated HL.

Back up what you can, try to repair windows (I take the error messages, paste them into google, and see what Bill says), and failing that, reinstall.
