ive just started playing cs after a long break and i have a few questions

how do you reconise an enemy by the time ive sussed out whos whos im deed

and i played on a jolt server today and when i enter server a long list of could not exec autofire, fix my hack stuff same up in the console

i dont cheat so or have any cheats so wtf are these things

and lastly any proper noob servers ip i can go to where they are a bit more patient with me

Play on a server where FF is off and if it moves SHOOT IT. If its one of yours - nothing happens. If its and enemy, you hit him (hopefully kill him)
Otherwise, CTs usually have dark trousers, where T has lighter "uniforms"
Also try changing the display for names to be centre of screen. When cursor is over target, the name appears midscreen. Easier to tell if enemy or not.

This is part of the cheat detection software. It runs certain hack commands - if it receives errors back when it cant run - you are fine. If it doesnt, then it assumes you have the hack installed and kicks and bans you.

Dont use them. UK2.NET have about 10 noob servers. Usually crammed with players just trying to show off

but how do i change position of the names display ive only got a basic config atm and no autoexec is it like netgraph position 1.2.3 or type jobbie

hello fellow CS noob!

I finnaly started playing CS about a week ago (several years behind i know)
UK2 newbie servers are pants, far too many script things enabled on them. Don't know what connection u have but mine sucks there.
Take a deep breath and jump into a BW server, find a quiet one if you can. You will get the usual jibes and suchlike, ignore it, never rise to any agro touted at you. If your lucky enough to get a lucky break and help win a round, some peeps will thank u for your help and give some encouragement - rare but it does happen.

keep your head down and keep at it - thats what I'm doing and I'm absoultly cack at the game so far

think its under the "customise" menu somewhere.... a "tick box"

ive got adsl so the bw connection is nice 50 ping, ive been playing half life dm for about 2 years now but i just fancied a change

Gah! your half way there then. I've been playing QW for godknows how long - so changing to CS is a bit of a culture shock!

The game is much more relaxed though, find a nice quiet corner of the map, spark up the bensons, maybe open a bevy and then shoot any fucker who disturbs your tranquility!

eee i remember when i was a noob...

but seriously, when i first started playing I used the B!tch server, purely because it was the lowest ping I could get. They were very mature and helpful, those of you "in the know" will realise why as a noob i always got crappy scores lol.
My tip would be to play on clan servers, not the publics, because you will find the guys there much more friendly and skillful.
My second tip is, when dead, use spectator mode to see how the better players on the server play.
last tip, be patient, not a game you can become skilled at overnight because its about tactics AND accuracy.

Grimes, if ur any good on dm than u should kick ass on cs. Some things to bear in mind:

Teamplay is very important. The good players will stick by you and help you out (and expect u to do the same).

Don't go charging straight in, use your head, call for backup, etc. Deathmatch type play will get you killed.

Use burst fire (short bursts of 2-5 bullets) on all automatic weapons (apart from shotguns and sig sniper rifle)

Each weapon behaves differently. The mp5 is a good choice (menu 3, 3), because its cheap, and pretty deadly. If you can afford it, buy a colt m4 (4, 3). Don't buy an ak47 until you have learned to master it's recoil

Don't run forward while firing, get in position, and be prepared to take hits. keep your cool.

You can throw grenades further by running forward when throwing. Running backwards when throwing causes the grenade to land very close to you.

Be prepared to lose your family, girlfriend, dog, house, job, sleep, everything.

I take it you've never heard of the old QW DM team [CSS] then..

The only hard part of CS is learning the bloody maps inside out. From both sides too which makes it double the work.

I usually hang back and follow or more usually provide backup fire for peeps - seeing that after a week or so I only know a few maps, must play more on the ones I don't

Teamplay, I agree with - ppl will stick by you if u help them out - others don't bother they are just "loners"

I've noticed the thing about grenades in CS behaving differently. plus its always nice to have one in your pocket as a backup if I survive past the 1st minute in a round. A lot of grenade throwing gets done early on, but i found if i keep the HE a bit longer throwing one when the opposition least expects it, gets a few kills in. Plus having a big sign over your head saying "n00B!!" startles them even more when you pull a HE out and toast 'em

I just goto get used to CS's weapon switches and remain c a l m at all times. The more relaxed pace of CS shaould provide this, but it doesn't ..must kill all!!!

I've not noticed any sh33p about yet - not supprising really as most in my area were toasted last year on them big fires
