I just lookin thru a drawer at home, which was bought off an Old Lady around 2weeks ago, anyway inside i just found 2 Newspapers...

"Daily Express" dated at 2nd July 1969, on the front page is "Soldiers killed in Blast Horror" where a bomb i presume went off at "Caernarvon" (Ireland?), also on the front page is a huge picture of a *very* young Prince Charles...

The other paper is also "Daily Express" and is dated 21st July with the Headline "Man is on the Moon" with 2 big pictures of Neil Armstrong and a guy called Aldrine...

Both papers are in very good condition, its remarkable heh

*puts papers back*

Do you think theyd be worth anything? The price on them is "5d" altho because i wasnt ever around when that currency was around, i dont know how much it meant :p

5d=5p in old money

The Man on the Moon one would be a good one to keep, no idea if it would be worth something but its a nice bit of history.

Incorrect, trust me :)

5d = 2.5 new pence

12d = 1 shilling = 5 new pence
20 shillings= 1 pound
half a crown = 2.5 shillings
crown = 5 shillings.

I used to get half a crown weekly pocket money, the princely sum of 12.5 pence.

I remember when we switched from groats to pennies :)

When we moved into this house we found newspapers under the bedroom rug from the 1940's, stuff about the war on them, we also found 769'000 moths in our bedroom. I guess that means that the rug had been left, untouched for like 50 years................................cool.

There is probably also a dead body buried in the wall...
