Apple have been doing that since the G2 came out. No one listened then and wont now.

Which is unfortunate. Aparently the G4 IS a very efficient chip, but by putting a Geforce 2 MX in the new iMac they've defeated any benefit to games before it is even released.

And of course, the benifit only comes from custom written programs, cause a direct port from PC will need special optimisations to run well.

That is my (limited) understanding of it all anyway.
