ne1 else notice the heavy rain all over the realm today? it was everywhere except lyonesse where players in that zone got messages about a shipwreck or sumthing. ne1 know anything about the whereabouts of the thing we're supposed 2 b looking 4?

Strange meeting in DM

While I was in a party hunting for ponies in dartmoor, a strange wise man with the name of Finandpet (cabalists do exist) comes up to our group and starts talking in riddles:

Finandpet says, "Heavy rains spotted on lyonesse"
Ikill says, "ok."
Finandpet says, "1"
Zensha says, "damn i forgot my umbrella"
Finandpet says, "lol"
Finandpet says, "beach full of items to pick up"
Ikill says, "dragon in sight"
Cathrine says, "Didn't realise we'd our own weatherman her. So nice "
Finandpet says, "also drowned man spotted on beach"
Finandpet says, "dead fishes, empry bottles"
Finandpet says, "empty..."
Finandpet says, "well if u dont what it means, ask guild =)"

Then he started talking directly to me:

Finandpet sends, "its an event, and it makes the LD's also =) and the event should start next week, if u have 40+ characters....tell them"
Finandpet sends, "the drowned man is the answer 1 of the questions the stelhed wizzys say"
You send, "how do you know this?" to Finandpet
Finandpet sends, "they also call secret orders, event #1, that only gives 55 mill XP"
Finandpet sends, "i think 55 mill XP might move your XP bar"
You send, "lol im sure it would " to Finandpet

This all happened last night...

that finandpet sounds pretty fake to me...
if it was a coded npc or a GM running it, it would not be such "random talk" ... thats the key to find events, its precoded or run by GM's, which will make it free of typo's and also free of much response to what you'd say back to him.

It's true that I've seen that guy around more then once and I did make up the wise part of him still found it a bit strange tho so that's why I posted it.

And 55M xp would probably move my xp bar for 10 bubs

Secret Orders is a normal quest coded in the game by Mythic no?

(it's on warcry so it must be event's are one off things)

Secret orders is indeed an ordinary quest - although it, or the mobs involved seem to come up a *lot* on event discussions.

For those who haven't taken it...

Heather Barclay is concerned about the growing strength of a band of necromancers - and is seeking help from anyone lvl 41+ willing to investigate. You can find her at Swanton keep.

The amoungst the usual quest related fun Heather has you hunt down a necromancer near barrows, an undead dragon in the lake at barfog, another necromancer in Odin's gate, and finally seek out and discuss matters with the Arawnite Commander in the Pennines.

You get a nice ring, bracer, medallion, and a set of boots for your troubles.

Oh, and choose Knowledge.

The plot at the end of the quest is left open when the bad guys are not clearly identified and Heather thanks you for your help - but indicates you cannot help her further.

As someone mentions above you get 55M xp for completing the quest, and the quest can be completed solo - so long as you are comfortable soloing yellows with the occaisional green add. Bring a friend along and you'll romp it home.

I suppose it's possible that the event is somehow being linked into the plot of this quest - does have anyone have any evidence to support why Secret Orders keeps coming up in these threads?

Well the secret orders was 1st Quest what was added, f.ex like these events =)

so they call it 1st Event, and those Events in Usa r little different..

The Secret Orders quest has indeed added some mobs here and there (the necromancer near barrows with his paladin undead friends, some hunter in Llynn Barfog)... But this quest is part of the game since the patch date...

But the mobs that some other people mentioned (Kyla, the mob IN barrows,etc) are part of some event... Which is unfolding slowly...

I havent had the luck of seeing the heavy rain (been in Cata's for most of the evening, work during the day ), or seen the new NPC's that got added...

But I bet its alll 1 huge event... Also think its a cross realm event, seeing mids & hibs got the same sort of NPC's leading them into what looks like the mid fronteir...
Cant wait to see what happens, let the events unfold...

Wether or not it's new there's a gaurd I don't remember seeing before near one of the entrances to the round table area, on the way from cots entrance to round table.

He warns you that pickpockets have been spotted in the area.

Again, this could be me just not looking around excal since the patch.

Can't remember his name ect.

His name started with a B, he was in camelot on the way from the cotswold entrance to the round table, as I said, he's with another guard and an Albion Runner.

Yes yes , its a Quest, but thats 1 of the bases of Events, add patch and new quests come out, but they were clever and though, well what a heck, invent new those kind of things, and add them when server reset is, because when patch came, a lot of peeps did that secret orders, took me 6 hours to do it, with my tincan =) and i was only 1 who stayed awake that whole time =)
