It does really suck.

Best solution I've found so far is something called Telfast. I went for the strongest available last year (180mg) and they worked better than anything I've ever tried.

Still had fucking itchy eyes though. :(

Get the eye drops.

I think they're called Opticrom or something like that.

Oh well.

3 months left of hell.

Used to get it awful. Then one year, i just couldn't be arsed to bother taking the pill things that are meant to prevent it(Trilludan, or something), and i didn't get it too bad. In the couple of years since then, i've barely had it.

I used to suffer really badly. It affected my eyes, nose, and i also used to get a "bumpy" rash behind my knees and elbows(the equivlant of armpits) if i got in contact with grass on those areas; I think that was part of the hayfever, anyway. Maybe i realised that the drugs are all psychological, or something, but that year was the turning point, i'm sure of it :)

I have it to look forward to :( NOT !!!

It really annoys me cus i never had hayfever until i was about 25, then all hell broke loose, itchy eyes, runny nose, sneezing at a rate of 25/min, head feels bunged up and to top it off i turn into a monster :(

My hay fever has been getting later and later of the last few years, last year I had it around June-July, when I first started getting it, it was March. Dunno what sets it back like that, and yes its awful :(

...

When i was young, and at primary school, it used to happen lots. My primary school had 2 football pitches, with grass banks all around. I've never seen a primary school with better playing fields, especially in Nottingham. Anyway, summers are crap and short now, but only a few(well, 6 or 7) years ago they weren't, as i'm sure you oldies can attest to. So, for half of the year, we used to have our main break on the playing fields, in the glorious sun.

Everyone used to wear shorts, because it was too hot not to. I never used to play a huge amount of football, since i was shite at it, and so the group of people i used to play with, had stupid games, which largely involved running around the grass banks. Those grass banks were a great source of fun, as they were fairly steep. We used to slide down them on one foot, whilst crouching. This obviously left one foot sticking out infront, to stop you falling over. Wearing shorts, this means that the back of that leg skimmed accross the grass. The part of the back of my leg, that was where my knee-joint was used to get brought up in a really nasty rash by this. (It also managed to create very strong grass-strains on darkgrey shorts - Something that isn't the easiest thing to do :D) Well, just sitting on the floor with this part of the leg touching the grass used to do this. So infact, the above story is totally pointless :(

But to get back to the point: In summer, i used to get "blotchy" rashes on my arms and legs, behind the elbow and knee joints. It was very sore :( I always assumed it to be caused by the hayfever, since it didn't happen in winter.

It doesn't happen now because:
a) I never sit on the grass.
b) I don't get hayfever very much anymore.
c) Summer lasts about 2weeks, before we get into autumn. A very warm autumn maybe, but it's no replacement for a long summer :(

And before you complain about this being the most boring post so far this year, i suggest that you blame D0lly for his totally inapropriate "joke" :p

I just wondered why your elbows where the equivalent of your armpits.

I meant as in the armpit is the opposite of the shoulder. In the same way, the knee would have a leg-pit, and elbow would have an... armpit :( But do you get my meaning?
