Having problems finding the right codec to play an AVI?

I've downloaded AVIs before and my machine has said that I didn't have the right codec to play it, so when I tried out VLC, my problems ceased to exist.

Just get GSpot and see what codec you are missing, instead of randomly installing every codec you come across.
