It works the first 15-20 min, then it slowly gets more and more laggy everytime I try to record anything, why does it happen? and what can I do?

I am a complete newb regarding comps so if you have a solution, pretend I am 5 years old.

I appreciate all answers/ideas.

When your RAM usage gets high (a memory hogging program like DAOC combined with a video capture program like FRAPS), then windows will start to use your hard-disk to swap memory (as it does with RAM).

If you are recording files to a hard-disk, and daoc is reading files from it, AND windows is using it to swap memory. Then you will get lag like you seem to be having.

Ways you might be able to prevent this:
Get more RAM
Get a faster processor (video capture can use alot of processor power, on top of daoc)
Record to a seperate disk to the one Windows uses for its Swap File.
