haste & celerity

need some help from fellow healers :D

do we have any high aug healers that can tell me how celerity works in RvR. the tests i made shows that celerity lowers style dam by about 40% :( okaj u hit alot faster but in rvr who has time for prolonged fights?

haste buff lowered basedam when we tried killing the same mob (flying stuff outside df)

my test was not a very good one but it should give some indication of how celerity and haste works. If this is correct then speccing aug has no real rvr use (resists excluded).

can anybody prove me wrong so i can be happy with my specc again, as it is now i wont cast celerity for rvr.

Well i'm not primarily an aug healer but from my experience casting celerity during RvR is very tricky business. I mean its primarily the range that makes it so difficult only effecting group members in a 1000 unit PBAE radius, the first time i tried it i realised i'd don't nothing but make myself and the caster next to me swing our weapons a little faster :)

However, i dissagree with aug spec being useless in RvR. Aug is a spec you should consider if you want to be a soloer or operate in small groups (3-4), you'l never hit as hard as tanks do but the damage shield/buff are very nice ways to bolstery your damage.

Still with no first hand experience in the matter i might be totally wrong so if an aug healer comes along and tells you otherwise i'd take their word over mine.

Haste and Celerity does decrease style bonus damage, but base damage remains the same.

For example (abstract numbers, just to show how this works):

Without any haste you do 100(base damage) + 400(style bonus) = 500 damage every 4 seconds. Thats 125 dmg/sec.
With haste/celerity you do 100(base) + 200(style bonus) = 300 damage every 2 seconds. Thats 150 dmg/sec.

I luuv Celerity!

I have my healer Mirala.. lvl47 atm. Specced 39 for 2:nd best Ancestors favor.. 4 Pac for PoM, and have 30aug atm... but template lvl50 will be 37 for 2:nd best resists.
Celerity doesn't help RvR? Ofcourse it do..hit fast like hell.. interupts spells easier..Slams faster...Etc etc + with melee enhancement the damage is even higher then usual.

Celerity is also very nice for pulling of 2-3 chain styles. The best damage over time is with celerity. And as mentioned above, you will be able to interrupt spells alot easier.

old.st i know what you mean - that they cant cast again cause there's a downtime on the speed of the weapon but say there stands several casters close, you would be able to interupt them alot faster

and im my experience (only PvE) celerity makes killing rate go BOOM... seriusly it so rox :) i rarely makes a grp whitout a aug healer unless there absolutely noone to dust up...

as for RvR use i have no idea realy, sorry

Aug/Mend Healers

Ive been considering respeccing for many weeks from high pacification to high aug/mend, I finally decided to go ahead and i realise i dont have my respec anymore :(

But when i find a respec stone, Out comes the AUG and bye bye boring pac.

Who needs PoM when Serenity can do it for you, or just abuse a pac specced healer :p

And instas mez? I feel purge, group purge ,determination and cure mez has made Aug/mend healers a much more viable playing style.

All healers got a single line respec in latest patch I think. I didn't though, because I hadn't used my full respec since I got in a patch long ago. That's how I respeced to aug/mend. It said I didn't have a single respec available, but my full respec did work.
You SHOULD have a single line respec if goa didn't crap that up.

ill get this bugger to rr4 and then determin if thrash or okaj specc :D

but the 36pac 40mend template is mighty tempting atm ;)

but heck resists do make a diff, and must be grps without zerkers in emain :O

My experience of being Mend/aug

First about the respecc. Aye, we got a single respecc when 1.57 got here.. Patch got here when I was lvl37 with Mirala and I used it up when I was 37.. So I guess the single respecc thingie was avaliable if u didn't gain any levels before u were gonna respecc!

About Mend/aug specc... When I run around in Emain/Odin's Gate, exp-places like lair etc etc.. I see PAC-healer everywhere. And I thought ffs, I wanna be something different.. Something I enjoy playing with. I now have very nice heals which makes me good PvE/RvR.. Celerity also great PvE/RvR.. I'm missing value 2+ PoM, and AE,instantAE,instant mezzes.. But PoM is not really any need in RvR imho...Instead I've got Ancestor's Favor and 2 great instant heals, 1single and 1group.

I luuv my specc.. And will stick to it.. I am well appreciated in groups and I'm pretty good at soloing :)
For those healers that doesn't like their allPAC specc or something.. Mend39,Aug37,PAC4.. It's a nice combination.. That's the end of my lil Superspecc information :-P

Respec

I managed to mess up my chance to respec as i first logged my healer in version when they game respec at level 44, then didnt think about respec till level 47. So ill need to wait till respec stones till i get my uber aug healer :(

Considering 44 which allows mending at 30 to give low level spread heal.
However i like the sound of the Body resist group (lvl46 aug)buff of a whopping 25%, thats like damn good mezz reistance and many other attacks.

Wonder what people think of these very high resistance buffs, are they worth losing the spreadheal for?

no ever think that resists could replace spread heal....
30 mend must have nowadays
if u want challenge try
32/20/38 MAP or 30/8/44 or even 35/15/38

Imo for groups there is no point having aug any lower than the first resist buffs except for the nice run buff. If you're specing below 23 aug, you might as well just go with only 5 for first run buff. Might consider going 31 mend for first spread heal and better big heal, 44 aug for best celerity and second tier resist buffs and 4 pac for first pom. This leaves only one point unspent.
You can gimp your celerity and lower aug to 43 for better insta heal too.
