Did anyone watch this the other day on the discovery channel? I really want to see the episode again but I can't find it on the internet anywhere.

The last British survivor of World War 1. Was a brilliant watch and loved every bit of it even though it was really sad at some points.

Every year I go to the Somme, Ypres and Menin Gate and at one point was privileged to see him although never got to talk to him. Great man.

that can't possibly be true can it? was he the last survivor of a particular battle or?

He's the last verified Tommy who fought in the western front, i'm reading from Wikipedia here so heyho, could still be wrong.

Aye.

Gives me a proud feeling though, just wish more people realised what people went through in WW1 and Two and that they did it for us. Just hoped people would appreciate people like that more.

Makes me sad thinking about it.
