Scan : they used to be OK before they moved to horwich, when they were in Radcliffe the service was a lot more personal. All their tech staff are champion knitters.

Aria : nice and cheap and just down the road

Atlantic PC: at the bottom of the road, only started usuing them recently, but they are very friendly, the manager gives me coffee and cup cakes when i visit (this isn't because they take so long to serve you)

Dabs : ordered from them twice, had my order B0rked twice, also they take a long time sending orders out. A victim of their own success.

Europa: firendly, but they are getting expensive now that Spot on computing has moved from 2 doors away.

i'm quite lucky, because I live in Manchester, and all these shops are at the most a half hour drive away. I prefer not to use the plastic when buying computer parts because you don't get the same level of service as you do if you call in person. Also, if you do have a problem and you are moaning about it in the shop, in front of other customers, they tend to give you freebies.
