How old is your Bios? Check the mobo's manufacturer for an update. It's well known that some bios's can't correctly recognise a hdd over 11gig.

Try manually putting in the cylinders / heads and sectors info into your bios. The details are on your hdd casing.

The format c: should have made no diff tho.

have you tried booting from a floppy and then checking your drive?
it seems to me that your mbr/fat's have becone corrupted m8. if your drive scan/repair proggy can't fix it i think you'd have to use fdisk to repartition your drive.

oh and, at the risk of being a pain, there is a 'help' forum you know :)

Did u format under Win98/95? I formatted a 20gb HD a couple of days ago under 98, the format shagged up summat, and reported the size at 11gb or something.
Fdisk, and format under a pure DOS enviroment.

If its gone really bonkers, ie losing data and corrupting all the time, put it in a polly bag and put the fucker in the freezer over night. This has worked wonders for me loads of times.
