Half-life part deux

No doubt most of you have heard of the fact that Valve are showing Half-Life 2 at this years E3 in May? Apparently, in the UK Edge have the exclusive on the Xbox version while PC Gamer will be showing copious amounts of man-love to the PC version. Rumoured release dates range from the end of June to December but it IS being released this year!

I just wondered if anyone is still even bothered about Half-Life anymore and what you'd want to see in a sequel?

As long as it has good graphics and storyline I'll be happy.

Half Life and its addons was the last FPS game I played that had a half decent story line.

As for its release, it Team Fortress II is anything to go by I wont be holding my breath.

What I can't understand is its continued presence at #1 in most Top 100 games of all time charts.

Puh-lease, it was a decent game, but certainly nowhere near as good as the likes of Deus Ex for example.

It was OK but hardly great. The fucking shitty jumping sections at the end deserve to burn in hell.

I don't they are announcing HL2 as a vaporware, I think you will find they are probably pretty much through it and are only announcing now. To avoid the TF2 affect

After reading the stuff on that site it seems there might just be a PC version. The tech sounds amazing, especially for mod-makers. No doubt M$ will get the cheque book out though.

It may just be me, but most of those *screenshots* look more like concept art. It may just be that the engine is that good, but I'll be sceptical until I see a movie of it running at E3.

Well apparently they've been working on it since the release of half life and are only beginning to publicise it now they've nearly finished.
