half life keys idea

Why can't we buy valid keys online? I'm installing CS here at work for lan usage but only one us can play online at any one time.

We're going to have to go out and buy 5 more copies of the game next week so I was wondering why can't I go to a website and purchase a valid key online using a credit/debit card? Theres already a copy of the game here so a further 5 is pretty redundant.

But not just for HL, for Quake and any other game that requires a valid key online in order to play.

Well, if your just playing on a LAN offline, just use the same key for all the HLs you install.

Why not buy Half Life Generations Pack? It includes Half Life, Counter Strike and some other MOD (I forget), and its only £20..

I posted a thread similar to this not so long ago, and because i had HL Generations, i could use all 3 CD Keys at once, so all you really need is 2 Copies of HL Generations

The missing one is Opposing Force, you also get TFC which uses Half Lifes CD Key. So Charlie could install HL+CS mod on one PC and CS retail on another. (I haven't been able to use the opposing force cd key with HL, I haven't tried it in retail CS).

HL:Generations can include two CS's with seperate CD Key. There's retail CS running on retail CS cd-key and you can download mod CS running on Half-Life cd-key
