Hello - please forgive me if this question has been answered already, though I've spent the last two days searching for an answer.
I have got the Half-life generations pack. I've just got broadband so decided to give HL/CS a go online. Downloaded the latest updates, including steam. When I try to join a game through gamespy, I get an error message saying "This server is using a newer protocol (47) than your client (46)". When I try connecting through steam, I see the splash screen, and then the game hangs on a completely white screen, though sometimes I can hear game sounds.
I've downloaded the most up to date files, uninstalled and tried again, though still have the same problem. When I use the half-life auto updater it tells me I have the most recent files already.
Any suggestions/solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
