Hey all,

Merry christmas! I hope you all had a good one and santa brought you all that you desired. For me one of the presents was the thread title game.

Now here's my question: I bought Rock Band when it first came out along with all it's instruments. I was a particular fan of the drums (aren't we all?) and I was wondering if it's worth it to buy the 'Guitar Hero' (with the symobls and what-not) drum kit and sell on my Rock band drum kit.

Does the guitar hero kit offer any significant difference to the rock band kit? And more importantly to myself: has guitar hero stopped sucking duracell/energizers respective cocks and allowed the use of rechargeable packs in their wireless gear?

Cheers

Can't really say about the World Tour thingy, but GH has had a rechargable battery from day one.

The wireless guitar that came with GH3 only takes two AA batteries (xbox360 version by the way). I want them to take the block rechargeable packs.

Are you calling me a liar, i have one :p

Play.com (UK) : Rechargeable Battery Pack For Guitar Hero Wireless Guitar Controller (For use with PS2 / PS3 / Xbox 360) : Xbox 360 - Free Delivery

It may not be compatible with the GH4 guitar, that i can't comment on, but it deffo works with GH3.

Not at all, see that requires buying an additional piece of kit.

I was hoping they had made new instruments with the same battery dock as the official control pads - meaning i could use my rechargeable battery blocks in them.

Look at it from a marketing point of view, they aint gonna sell rechargable packs if the standard 360 controller battery fits.

The instruments and accessories are way overpriced that's for sure, but theres not a lot we can do about it :(

Not Really :D

Playing Thru the fire and flames with a 1000+ note streak, now thats sweet.

I've reached a point in career mode on GH2, GH3 and Rockband on both hard and expert where i just can't progess, i can no longer play "on the fly" and now need to start learning the note sequence :(

Is the guitar supplied with GH3 compatible with World Tour (for the Wii if that matters) ?

Don't worry Edmond, normal people don't get 1000+ note streaks :p

All I know is the guitar supplied with Legends of Rock works with World Tour.. My highest streak on WT/LoR is around 700 atm (Metallica's One 4tw) and a first attempt 5x 100% on Hotel California on WT :D

Good game, shame the WT controller is bugged with strumming for me.

Lol, I bought GH3 and saw expert and cried, then i played it for awhile, and can now knock out half a tune. It's surprising how far you come, like i say i'm know stuck at the stage where i need to spend time learning the sequence, bah :(

BTW, 1000 note streak is thru the fire and flames on easy or medium :D

Albeit i concentrated so hard in parts i thought i was gonna pass out

Wow.

I have just this week played guitar hero for the first time. I was missing out until now.

Managed to steal my mates world tour that he does not want. Now, I want guitar hero 1-3 as well, will the world tour guitar work with them?

Forget guitar hero, get rock band. Much better DLC and guitar hero has never been the same since Neversoft took over the development, tracks tend to be overcharted.

It's like £20 (if you shop around), and you can use the controller from Guitar Hero. I will admit that I currrently prefer their guitar controller, although my WT guitar broke recently and I had to buy a replacement.

Ah, the PS3 version. Rock band 2 came out today for the ps3, so I'd expect to see quite a few pre-owned copies of rock band 1 becoming available (and cheaper), as you can pay around a fiver and import almost all the tracks into 2. That's the main reason I prefer rock band, it's a platform that you can use your dlc on, rather than a single game (which isn't always the case with guitar hero).

Guitar hero metallica is out soonish (already out in the US), if you are a big metallica fan.

As for your earlier question about the guitar, there's a greatest hits version of guitar hero coming out in june (supposidely) with all the best tracks from 1-3, you'd be best off getting that.

Anyone know any cheap places to get the GH band kit or just an extra guitar or drums separately?

Aha- it seems the rock band instruments and the WT instruments are compatible with each other. Think I will just trade my ps3 WT for a 360 version, then use the 360 rock band kit my cousin already owns. Good thing I checked, just save myself a lot of moolah.

HMV seem to be doing the best trade in's these days. Guess they must be desperate to start up their 2nd hand section.
