Ok, im sure this has ben brought up before, but Ive had a look and connot find it. So here goes.

Can a Guild itself claim a keep or do you claim it for the 'race'.

For example, LOE capture a keep in XX zone. Is it now LOE's guild keep?

If there IS a system (a la daoc) where this is catered for, how many guilds would be able to hold keeps aproximately at max level? (discounting any level 10 keeps etc there may be).

Lets face it, one of the huge pulls on DAOc was guilds holding and defending their OWN (not a keep that belongs to the humans for example)keep from the enemy, lets hope that a similar machanism is available in WAR.

I could swear i remember seeing some info on this a while back. Guilds will be able to claim a keep and have their tabbard flying from the battlements. I can also remember seeing dev drawings of different racial keeps. Whether or not the keeps of a certain racial area are all the same or if they change per guild i do not know.

I'd love to see guilds be able to choose their main allegiance when their formed and have this change the look of a keep as the guild level it up. A Chaos aligned guild keep gets more tentacles, or an Orc guild gets big WAAAGH! or Gork and Mork banners.

Maybe you can fly an enemy guilds banner that you've stolen on the battlefield as bragging rights for all to see. :D

They made it really clear that ONLY guilds can claim keeps and to do that you would need to have your guild banner in the keep and that having done so the NPC guards would wear your guild emblems.

Whether or not there is any race allegience in keep claiming I have no idea but why would there be? How many guilds for instance would be comprised of just one race? Not that I'm saying they would need to be but factionwise you will have either order keeps or destruction keeps. The visible changes to keeps would be based on where the keep is I would think. For example if a keep in a Chaos zone was claimed by a guild comprising totally of Dark Elves then the former Empire keep would take on all sorts of weird and wonderful chaos mutations and distortions not dark elven ones. And it would probably be guarded by Chaos NPC's. Nothing about the make-up of the claiming guild is likely to change that. In essence it would either be an Empire keep or a Chaos overun Empire keep.

Well according to the podcast any player can take part in taking over a keep, it seems that if you manage to kill the keep lord (NPC) you liberate the keep and it changes side.

While any ragtag group of players can take over a keep only guilds can claim it (again podcast), claiming a keep seemingly will only give the guild bragging rights as the guild colours are flown over the keep and all the NPC guards get guild tabards.

That is as much as the podcast tells us.

My guess beyond that is that each guild is affiliated with a specific
force, say you have an orc guild, I can see no reason why such a guild can not have dark elves and chaos members but my guess is that you still have to define the guild as orc, chaos, dark elf, high elf, human or dwarf, once claimed I expect the keep to over a short time retexturise to the guilds affiliation.

Thus if an orc guild were to claim a keep formerly owned by a high elf guild the keep would after some time become very orcy.

I have no idea if a keep in an elf PvP zone can get the orky design, it is possible that the elven area can only alter between high and dark elf design while the keeps in the dwarf-greenskin areas can only switch between dwrf and greenskin but I hope the keep design alterations are global.

Anyhow, its going to be fun finding out how correct my guess is :)

I'd rather guess that the keep will restructure to fit one of the two factions that are at war in this zone. For example: In the greenskin vs dwarf area, a keep will be either dwarfy with lots of big rocks etc, or it will be orcy with lots of pointy sticks. Regardless of what race captured it. The guild will supply the banners design.

Guilds take keeps and bragging rights with banners/Heraldy showing off everywhere over the keep flags, banners, guards armor etc.

Within the guild there are set levels to players, Only certain players will have permission for taking keeps on behalf of your guild. (bit like Banner carriers where you are limited to 4 per guild i think)

You get to level up the keep/guards. earn renown, get bonus/cheap npc's. and the most fun part! pour boiling oil over the enemy when they attack!

I had a question regarding keep as well. I saw that to attack a keep you can make items like repeater crossbows and battering rams, but can the defender make such items as well. I would like to defend my keep with organ guns, hellblaster volley guns and so on.
I also read that you have to attack the keep from the ground level up. does that mean that siege ladders are out of the question?

Maybe the amount of firepower will increase withe the tiers. Lets hope so!!
