After reports of the sex mini-game being available on the PS2 version, Rockstar have now ceased production of GTA: San Andreas. The official reason is so they can change the rating in accordance with the ESRB's latest review. The change will see the game's rating increase from Mature 17+ to Adults Only 18+.

Considering no modding of games can be done on the PS2, the evidence appears to confirm the sex mini-game is within the game code. The "Hot Coffee" mod therefore appears to unlock code contained within the PC version and does not 'add' to it. This contradicts Rockstar Games' statement blaming the Mod for causing the mischief.

More details can be found here.

I still can't get over the fact that they are complaining about ONE sex scene in a game which features some of the most bloodthirsty violent mayhem ever seen in a game!

Hmm, sex (natural, biological function) vs. stealing cars and killing people (kinda illegal in most countries)...am I missing something? ~rolls eyes~

This is also available on the PS2, but you need one of those madd dogg code thingys. This suggests to me it was actually put in by rockstar games.

It's not available out of the box so I really don't think it's much cop really. You have to have a Action reply type deal to view it on the ps2 or hacked code for the pc / xbox.

They just love to jump on computer games as degrading the society out there, not that the game is actually mimmicking the society anyway :p

It's not gamers who are upset as most have seen much much worse in other games, it's the socio-political americans who are eagre to blame everything but themselves for the shit they are currently in and dragging other countrys down with them.

Hi guys

The 1.01 patch is now available for GTA San Andreas (~11MB), which brings bug fixes, some updates and removes the Hot Coffee support. Blue's News has the links :)

Additions
  • Added support for 720p and 1080i HDTV resolutions (may also do 1080p, not sure).
  • Version Number displayed on game title screen.
Bugs Fixed
  • Issue fixed on machines where the OS has been updated (one OS installed over top of another) and has 2 registry keys that point to the users "My Documents" folder (we incorrectly used to assume the Win2000 folder, now correctly uses the last installed OS folder) - users know this as "user account period bug".
  • Crash when entering advanced display options with only 32 meg of video ram (32 meg of video ram is not supported and will only allow use of 640*480 in 16 and 32 bit. At this resolution it is likely you will see the "Black Roads" LOD problem). We do NOT however disallow machines with 32 meg of video ram from running GRAND THEFT AUTO: San Andreas.
  • Crash when entering advanced display options on a dual monitor machine after :- starting game on primary monitor in maximum resolution, exiting, starting again in maximum resolution on secondary monitor. Secondary monitor maximum resolution had to be greater than maximum resolution of primary monitor.
  • Destroyed cars now are correct colour.
  • Dirty cars now able to get clean.
  • Numpad 5 key is now mappable when re-defining controls.
  • Issue on all machines where certain collisions caused parts of the audio system to crash (sound effects, cutscene audio - only radio keeps going) - users know this as "Rain / Thunderstorm bug".
  • Improvements to DVD streaming.
  • Audio problems in interior / exterior transitions and getting in / out of cars fixed.
  • Some fixes to ensure reverb is not present at certain save points.
  • Improvements to dance game timings.
  • Crash occuring when using "user radio files" while the frame limiter is disabled.
Note that after patching your settings will be returned to default.

Kind Regards
