I did a day on Pop Idol in Manchester, behind the scenes stuff for 'This Morning'.

You have never seen so many misguided talentless clones anywhere! GET A F**KING JOB I thought. Some of them were good singers, and deserved success, but I always believed that the best talents were 'discovered' and not 'interviewed'.

Saying that, most people in this country are in love with the Celebrity status, and as a consequence, a great many more applicants are to be found for television jobs. You just look - how many male weather presenters are there now?

Mind you, I don't complain much, as most of the shoots I work on have 2-3 lurvley young researchers/producers to look at and chat-up. Not that I've had any success yet. BAH.
