Been playing Resident Evil (the GC version) since Thursday, and got to the end of disc 1 tonight.

So I put in disc 2 eagerly, and get:

THE GAME DISC COULD NOT BE READ, PLEASE CONSULT Y OUR NINTENDO GAMECUBE INSTRUCTION BOOKLET

Oddly enough, it said this halfway through it had accepted the disc and loaded up the "hi i am a door, you are going through me" type thing. I rebooted the machine and it loaded up the title screen and intro etc. normally. Plus in the GC Bios, it's recognised as "Resident Evil Disc 2 capcom 2002" etc.

Just gonna leave my GC for a while to get some other stuff done and see if it works later. Think my disc's knackered? Also, cos I got it off play, will it be a mammoth task to send it back?

Seriously, do what Sar says, so long as all you want is an exchange not a refund they'll do it no questions asked.

hmm, is that specifically game, or might i have some probs in say woolies or something?
My town sucks, the only game shops are like, small local places or woolworths. Nearest game is like 30 min bus ride away :/

Woolies should do it, small random shops might not. They dislike hassle of any sort, usually.

Well, if somewhere has sold you faulty goods, they legally have to replaced it... just go in there toting a big stick, they'll get the idea.

Umm...Play is an online store so might be a little tricky doing what you suggest...



Cage: e-mail Play and tell them you have a faulty disc. They might just send you a new one with an envelope to send the b0rked one back in...

I saw, the hassle of sending them my b0rked copy via recorded delivery, then waiting for them to get it, and waiting again for them to send it me back is quite lame, hence being a bit curious as to if i can easily just say i've just lost my receipt and get it off woolworths

mmmm good point Wolfeh, thats a sure way to blow the gaff, hehe.

If you go in a busy store, be nonspecific about when you bought it, (it is disk 2 that's knackered after all) so it took you a while to get to.

Just be pleasant, say, 'seems like this Disk is knackered can I swop it?' Their customer service response should kick in before there omfg shoplifter!!!11!! he never bought that here!!! response. Job done.

Unless of course you look like a complete pikey in which case get a respectable mate to do it.

When did RE come out on the Gamecube? I'd tell them you bought it about a month ago, when they ask if you have the receipt, do what Gumb0 says, and tell them that you threw it away a couple of weeks ago, but have only just worked your way through to the 2nd CD.

Just be very polite, and you shouldn't have any problems

I think it must have dissapeared :/ A search for all threads Cage has posted in (on General) over 6months ago, doesn't return it. I know that teh thread in question is older than 6 months, since the Ninja thread is turned up by this search, and i remember they were at the same time...
