OK bear with me coz there's alot of info to process here so those of you who have been a victim of greyganking should read carefully! those who aren't will either find that they have similar reasons for ganking greys, or have a good laugh reading this
greyganking has always been in this server since the first time they tested the server people would take off their flags in an overcrowded server and experiment with their new characters, I remember my lowbie shadowzerker and wtf pwning all the yellow/orange tanks easily
back then everyone was within 1-5 levels of each other so it was all in good fun, but this is how I came to start ganking greys and how I think most people came to start ganking greys:
It all started when I was level 15 i got on a horse from ardee to parth farm I got one shotted by a purple infil as soon as I got on the horse losing 5 silver i spent on a horse, sadystic enough as that was I released in mag mell ran back to ardee and got on the horse again, the f**ker followed me on a horse and killed me when I jumped, I noted his name (which I have now forgotten) and chained him alot 2 days later when he was green to me, a week on from this he was grey to me so I see him in ardee again and decide that hes learned his leason so I leave him ( a mistake) 20 secs later he and a full group of miscellaneous casters/healers/random tanks attack me,I manage to kill 2 but still get killed in the end, this is one example of why I kill most green/grey because some sadystic f**ker decides to pull a stunt like that on me.
Another Important thing to remember when you judge people for attacking greys is the mentality of a group leader in a full group of greys when they see a purple con player, 90+% of group leaders in a lowbie group will identify soloing purples and ask themselves: 'Can we take that guy? will b uber xp and good cash' so as a general rule you would b foolish to let full groups of greys or greens go around killing stuff unchecked.
This mentality was bad enough before /level 20 now there are nothing but groups of level 20-30s running around xping off higher con soloers and complaining when they get attacked by them without provocation later on, im sorry that the 10% of genuine greys who don't want to pvp on purples have to suffer because of the way the other 90% think but how do you identify whether the grey guy running around is part of the 90% of mother f**kers you have to look out for and which are the 10% you can trust to leave you alone?
thats my reasoning for killing greys or greens, I didn't just decide I was gonna be a prick and kill anything I saw that I could kill anyway I try to avoid killing the wrong people but im not gonna say I never get it wrong coz I do and im sorry to all the people ive wrongly killed but hey its all part of the game.
so people starting on the server have two choices: either join in on the 90% of people who group together and go around killing higher levels OR prepare for a long and tedious road of leveling the honest way and getting branded as the majority of greys as a threat that needs to be eliminated there is the third option of just giving up on the server altogether which is what most of those 10% end up doing anyway so its all up to you
P.S. Another thing to remember is when you kill someone of your level range he is gonna complain to any of his higher level friends who are in the area and get them to chain kill you regardless of their con to you.
OK ive said my piece, thanks to anyone who had the patience to read the whole thing, Feel free to agree/disagree and post opinions please no matter which category you fall into
and i'll shut up now
P.P.S. Sorry for all the typos and grammer errors for all you graduates of english out there
