Greetings and Salutations my fellow hibbies...

I've just come over from Albion on Excalibur, but decided that Hibernia would be a nice change of scenery. I like what I've seen so far, and look forward to kicking Albion's and Midgard's collective butts (once I've gained about 40 lvls anyway ;) )

I've decided that a Firbolg Bard would be a good choice, but I know next to nothing on any classes in Hibernia. Im looking to make a character that will be useful in groups, but at the moment I solo a lot (as I dont know anyone, and I'm not joining a guild until my PC works better), and Im not sure what I should be speccing in... at the moment im thinking Full Nuture and half Blades....

Could anyone give me advice on better specs or more fun characters? Any advice would be greatly appreciated...

Look forward to seeing you all out there....

Greetings to you and welcome to our beautiful realm.

Bards are best in groups and most groups will love you. They are hard to play well, but very rewarding when you do. They are the all round healers, and regenerators. They also can mez and of course have the speed song.
Look at putting as few points as possible into your weapon and group as much as possible - you will find most people in Hib easy to get along with, if they're not move on and find another group. Try to solo as little as possible - groups are more fun and 'should' give you better experience.

Have a look at some of the bard guides on the net and use the character builder to play with your spec points and work out where to put them (see links below).
For my bard I am looking at speccing fairly evenly in Nurture, Regrowth and Bard Music. Any points left over I'm putting into my weapon. But that's just my character, do what you feel happy with.

Bard (and other Hib character) guide links: http://www.castlecor.org/Sage/daoc_links.htm

Character builder: http://daoc.catacombs.com/cbuilder.cfm

If you really want to solo, then the pet characters are usually the best bet so have a look at the Druid and the Enchanter. But keep the bard.

If you need any help online feel free to /send me :). Good luck.
