yes yes kiddies, der td of c is slow as sh*t to go for "new" technologies, but this I simply can't resist!

this is the situation:

I currently have an 8Mbit adsl connection to the interwebnet costing me 80eur (call it 35GBP) per month.

a dutch cable company slash ISP is offering a 20Mbit connection for the same price, while the phoneline based ISPs are starting to talk about ADSL'2 which can also do 20Mbit (and lots more than that tbh) per month but they want silly money for it. Pricing at 100eur and stuff :/

thing is, I've been checking a bit and my current ISP has 6 1Gbit connections to the rest of the world while the cableco has 4. this means that while I may have 20Mbit on the internal wires, I may well be slower when I exit Holland than I am now (read there is a difference between 1900 kilobyte per second and 880KB/s, but I'm not aware that this may mean that a)instead of 1900 I go 1500 or b)instead of 1900 I go 500. ahem, still some doubts

anywaze, I'm inclined to do it. anyone going to yell NO YOU SHOULDN'T GET 20Mbit!!!? anyone?

Haw haw, my 8mbit is 36.50€ (or is it €36.50)/£25 less than yours

Don't get the 20mbit - continue paying stupid money for your 8mbit line so I can continue to point and laugh.
