to the OP: Mongrain's great as well, nice technique but I find it a bit tiresome after a while. His work is mostly for a chill out session. Loved the piece he did for that documentary (cant recall the name tho)

it's abit funny how, often playing fast and with ton's of distortion is considered being skilled, "well sure, it is"

but for me at least, some of the true greats, "and the most dificult thing" is playing a slow song/solo, with a clean/nakid sound, and making it work,
Now thats skill!!!

ps: saw a vid once with an asian chap playing "while my guitar gently weeps" on a Ukulele that was preaty sweet to watch

i'd also add that there's absolutly nothing wrong with fast,
and alot of the best songs combine fast and slow passages,

oh and ps, I love distortion, so dont get me wrong on that one either
