Gray Hib ganked by Purple Alb (Gwyneth, read)

Yeah.. I know there are no rules in RvR. And I'm beginning to support NO RULES/NO HONOR in RvR too

Gwyneth were interrupting me and my friends XP'ing in the frontier today.. and snuck up from behind for a kill while we were killing mobs. My friend the bard got away (he was purple to us both), and Gwyneth camped my body, or near it just be able tom kill me once I rez'ed..

Why is this? to disocurage XP'in in the frontier? To earn 1 RP the first time he killed me, and just to piss me off the second time? (you don't get RP if you kill me a few sec after I got rezzed..were u afraid of me?)

Ok.. no rules is it? I'm looking forward going to XP zones in Alb killing grays while they XP....wohoo...

BTW. I'm a lvl 32 SHield Hero, and he killed me with two hits.. must be lvl 45+ or something?

Gwyneth, 50 already? Not quite sure though. Anyhoo.... to the point. Well of course when you go to the RvR zones you are taking a risk, an enemy realm member might come knocking on your head anytime.
I don't think there is much more to it... frontiers = risk of getting killed
About ganking greys, well... whatever gives you kicks imho. It does actually look quite fun when one person kills a load of others (note: my chars are not high enough to do this, although if my scout was 40+ then ofc I'd sometimes relieve some stress on those purty yggdra middies).

I'm aware that I risk this when entering the frontier, but killing grays while they are XP'ing are no more honor than laughing/jumping on a dead body.. and Gwyneth didn't gain RP for this.. I'll just adopt this behviour as well since people tend to use it more often.

And I know a lot of Hibbies with honor who also change to "no honor" behaviour because of this... Let's make the frontier a worse place to be =o)

I often get killed by high levels. although the amount of peeps to which I con grey is getting less and less.
yet I refuse to do this myself, unless i have some lower level guildies with me

I might hit you a few times, but if you're grey to me you live.

I can do nothing more then add my plead to yours. leave greycons XPing. we need the other realms to have fun, so while spoil theirs?

saw that the greycon elvish archer (forgot your name, sorry) I chased a bit, and then let go, last saturday died to a mob a few yards further on. I am truly sorry, and wish I'd killed you instead :\

Well

Killing greys isn't wrong really, i don't do it (unless its a group fight or they attack me) but others are free to do as they wish. I started RvRing alot of lvl 25ish, i got killed by mids everytime i moved in a frontier grey or not, thats their choice and i knew it _would_ happen and accepted that.

I've seen this before in UO though with res killing. One guy gets res killed by a person and gets annoyed, he then goes and res kills people who in turn get annoyed and res kill. Soon you have lots of people res killing people who had nothing to do with the initial incident but by then its too late and theres nothing that can be done.

The moral, message or whatever.... if your in the frontier regions you should expect to get killed, don't expect someone to show quater just because they are lvl 50 and your lvl 5. To some people and enemy is an enemy, and its a justified view. But if you do get killed when you 'probably' con grey don't go out and kill greys because of that one person, you only cause more aggro and the game suffers.

Honor

Well honor starts with u, and u alone, u cant expect that the enemy will show honor. The can just be barbarians, like most albs i've meet, danicing and laughing at your corpse, but there r some of them that truly shows honor, let u rest after a fight with a mob, or helps u kill the mob if u r in trouble just to kill u later, i guess this last exampel shows that some do everything to get rlmpoints. But i try to show honor, sometimes hard when u r facing a backstabber.....

But i would never dance on your corpse, perhaps Modes or Hollywoods, most mids in rvr know of theese to...

besides that, indeed...expect your enemy to kill you, even when you're grey to them. just don't do it yourself and show them there is another way

it seems btw that it's mostly casters and archers that gank greys, tanks seem far more grey friendly, but that's just my observation ofcourse

I think it is at the discretion of the high lvl whether he wants to gank greys or not, but imo I would rather choose honour and leave them well alone, which I always try to

Sorry to say it but theres to much being nice to other realms going on.If your the enemy you either live or die you know the risks of going into the frontiers if you dont like getting killed dont go its that simple.I can understand what your saying about exp deaths caused by others but again its 1 of the risks of lvling out of the safety of your realm.
I personally dont care what lvl you are if you not of my realm i will attack you in rvr you can flame me for killing greys but when alls said and done they are the enemy and thats how alot of people play.Others will let them go about there buisness but in the frontier its war and it doesnt matter if you lvl 1 or lvl 50 you are the enemy.

I don't think anyone can complain about death and XP loss in the frontiers. There's got to be at least 8 other zones and 4 dungeons to play in, with places where you can still get the bonus xp too.

Unless of course we get to complain about Adds and BAFs, those scum have caused me no end of XP deaths.

The point is by killing you and camping your body they may be pissing you off bu they also waste a lot of your time - you get less XP, they have an easier time in RvR. Not to mention you might have been green - at level 41, 32 is blue to me still, though I'd probably be red or purple to the 32...

honour, wtf are you all taking about? if your country was at war with another country and you had to fight for it would you go to the battle grounds with your big guns and grenades etc and think "oh hes an engineer, he cant do much dmg to us but we wont kill him even if he is the enemy, we will be honourable and not kill people who cant fight as well as us"? i doubt it very much. just like in RvR you shouldnt think jus because an enemy isnt as good as you then you shouldnt fight him because thats not being enemys, is it? i thought the three realms were supposed to be at war with each other so why dont you jus fucking kill people even if they are lower lvl?

its not honour the right word is respect you'll get more repect if you dont kill a grey and he will feel that you arent harsh.

and this is a game not real life. killing a newbie wouldnt affect nothin or prevent much. unless its an army retaking something then killing anythign in site would be ok.

I think that is quite sad that you have named someone for killing you in the frontier lands. What makes it worse is that fact that you blamed Gywnneth for it, if anyone from Griffon knights is gonna kill Grey cons it is normaly me. Hey why not, I am only season 35 and most season 45+ players love to bash me as soon as they see me.

Would like to say I would not kill a low con if he has just pulled a mob. If they have I am more likly to help them... then kill them

1) 2 hits, could mean crit, not neccesarily enormous level difference.

2) Just because he is purple to you, doesnt mean you are grey to him.
This point is often mistaken by people. I believe it is actually possible, for you to be a very low blue con for him, tho he is purple. But green is definately possible.

Im sure i have killed a bunch of people, to whom i conned purple. but i have only killed ONE grey con, and he was attacking me, and actually hurting me, quite badly

I have several reasons for not killing grey cons, but one of these, which you might agree to is that I like the competition.

When attacking a grey con, you are pretty sure what the outcome of the fight will be. I can't see the fun in that. I want surprises, I want it to be a close match. If I win or lose in those fights, doesn't really matter as long as the fight was close.

When you are both down to your last milimeter of hp and you pray that you will get you next attack in and that your enemy will miss THAT is when this game is great for me

I took a stroll through Yggrda yesterday and found quite a few opportunities to kill grey cons, none of which I took but that is my preference, I have no axe to grind against those who do. However, I did spend a while watching Stumpy xp'ing with a few friends, and he is a green con, the rest were grey. Now.... Stumpy was one of a crowd of Middies active in RvR the night before, and I am sure had some success (ok, possibly limited) against us - this is a classic example why I wouldn't turn a hair at killing him, although I (again my choice) would prefer not to inflict an xp death. Anyway, I left him alone and then Azal stumbled right into me - 2 hits this time, not one, and /release time

Well I killed a grey con recently in odins gate.. we were expecting an attack on Bledmeer so he HAD to die.. he could be scouting for them and reporting back to everyone

I dont even like killing green cons much, and let em know it by crying at em after they die, but thats the way it goes

OK, Mili there were some good replies to the post but imo yours is not one of them i will list why, pls its only my opinion and take it just as criticism as no offence is meant :

1) Why offensive language

2) This game is not a war simulator and it never will be like 'if your country was at war...' really bad comparison. Have you been to war to know what its like ? If the answer is no then you dont really know what you are talking about,Im affraid

3) Killing greys is ok, exp killing is ok although quite annoying, and neother will earn you good graces, but then do not be surprised if your enemys dance and jump on you.

enjoy the game people if you take it too seriously it gets frustrating

Replies like that are just useless imo, but then again there always are problems with constructive replies on the forums.
However some people are genuinely good at posting and they do read the original post before replying

In a recent situation I was bored one day so took a jog to Yggdra, killed a green con who had just killed a fellow hibbie, job done, yellow alb came along, took him out, I'm happy now... ran down to lake, group of greys and one blue con!? (god knows why he was with them, powerlevelling perhaps?) anyway, blue is threat, mez him, all greys swing weapons around me so they must die, then drop blue

I Check out zombie camp, one green con troll, named Theirr (or something like that) struggling with a mob, I kill mob but don't like to kill him as he had 25% health, I bow and sit next to him, he rests..... 30 seconds later I'm backstabbed by Death! one hit kill dammit, but I had fun and didn't xp kill and like to play that way all the time. I got a few rp's so couldn't complain, only killed the greys cos thy defended their blue friend.

My apologies go out to Theirr as I returned the next day and got ganked by his group, but killed him in the proceess

Not sure if there's a moral to this story, but I couldn't find anything else worth posting about.
