OK, upgrading an old pc - p4 2.4mhz with agp slot. Need best card game-wise for a veryb tight budget. Any ideas?

Depends what money you want to throw at it, you get what you pay for. £100 will make do, £10,000 will pwn, but the difference between £50 and £500 can be huge, so budget is the main debate.

For AGP, id say the 6800GT is reasonable, around £80 or less, for PCI-E look at the 7600 or so.

For AGP sub £100 I would say 6600GT. I loved that old card. As for PCI-e i have ATI Radeon X800 and DAoC doesnt like it . Would (will tbh) probably go down an nvidia route again.

I've got that one and I'm fairly happy with it - it got about the same marks in 3DMark06 (1600) as my Sapphire x1600 (I had to send that back as it didn't work with DAoC). Runs DAoC as well as any card you'd find for under £100 except maybe one of the 128mb GTs.

Some 6600GTs here too for you...

Slightly higher price than you asked for on those tho.
