Graphics card heat-sink

mine fell off last night i've put it back on (it just sticks there) but now my pc crashes after a while of playing a game... I don't trust it to stay on either... if it fell off once, it'll probably do it again... any suggestions ?? It's a GF2MX 64 meg card, no fan on it... i've got an old fan from a celeron with it's heatsink, could that work ?

Are there any holes located around the GPU?

If there are holes in the same places on the card as these 2 on the Crystal Orb, then you'd be able to use the pushpins they provide to attach it to the card.

I had to replace the heatsink on my cpu recently. I cleaned the chip (and heatsink in your case) with nail varnish remover, applied some thermal compound and it stuck just fine and seems to be working fine too.

You need to make sure it's adhesive compound.

cpu wouldn't be a problem coz it clips on... my graphics card heatsink doesn't - it hangs on the underside of the card just waiting for gravity to help it on its way :/

I've had a look for a picture of my card online, but can't find any... it's a Gainward GF2 MX (200 i think) 64 meg big red thing...
